Yvette Phillips

I joined SST last summer. Although I was new to the book club, I wasn’t a stranger to many of the members. I was acquainted through a previous book club, employment or through family and friends . I graduated from Oklahoma University with a Master’s in Clinical Social Work and from Langston University with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Accounting with a minor in Computer Science. I am a mother of a 16 year old son and 14 year old daughter.

I am employed with Novartis Pharmaceuticals as a Senior Sales Consultant. Organizational affiliations include: Leadership Tulsa and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.-Alpha Zeta Chapter. I enjoy reading, traveling, gardening, interior decorating and cooking. My philosophies on life include approaching each day with excitement, enthusiasm and a sense of urgency. A couple of my favorite quotes are “If you think that you can you are probably right, on the other hand if you think that you can’t you are probably right also.” “Opportunity comes disguised as hard work”
