Tulsa Chapter
2nd Anniversary Mementos - 2004

Greeting Sistahs,

A note to let you know how awesome our 2nd Anniversary Outing was. I’m
sorry everyone did not make the trip.

We left at 8am Saturday morning arriving @ Precious Moments
around 10am, (after a couple of stops). The first thing we did was tour the
Fountains of Angels which was awesome. There was a water show that
Showed different people in the bible through the water. Sam Butcher has put scriptures with reoccurring themes of water, to depict heaven and
everlasting life...it was very, very, awesome, a must see. After that
we toured the house that Sam Butcher used to live in while working on the
chapel paintings. The entire house was set up as a tribute to Princess
Diana, the Pink Ribbon Crusade. The house has many of Diana's original
gowns that she wore which were beautiful. For each gown displayed, there was a smaller or miniature gown to match with a doll resembling Diana. Very, very nice.

After the Diana tour we went to lunch on the grounds and the lunch was very tasty. Of course we did not want to eat to much but we all over did it just a bit! We got quite a bit of walking in which was wonderful considering how beautiful the day was. The grounds at Precious Moments are so beautiful, the flowers were still in bloom and everything was full of color and the grounds were so green and the water so blue. After we had lunch I had a gift bag for everyone. Of course they were surprised. We had a good time admiring our gifts.

Now it was time for the guided tour of the Chapel. The chapel is a must see.
You have to be there to really appreciate and see the beauty of it. The
Chapel tour was the highlight of the trip. Beautiful art work and the reason
behind each piece, but even more was the peace you felt while listening
to the tour guide describe why each piece of art was created. It was very
inspiring.

Guess what we also detoured on the way home and had a surprise tour of
GEORGE WASHINGTON CARVER’S MUSEMN. This was a very interesting tour that I am sure we will never forget. This tour took us on a 3/4 mile walk through the grounds that he grew up on. More details at our meeting.

After the tour we had a drawing and pulled numbers for the gifts that
Were donated to us. Alicia received a book (a title that she was very happy to receive) and a gift certificate for a free cake of her choice from the lady that makes most of our birthday cakes.

Sharon received two gift certificates, one for $65.00 of salon services
Of her choosing and one for an eyebrow arch, compliments of Apache Style
Shop.

Mary received two books (one by one of our guest authors that will be
at our 2005 reunion), she was very glad to have them. Sharon tried to trade her eyebrow arch certificate for a book, but we all know how Mary loves to read so there was no trade.

I received a book also and was very excited to get the one by one of my
favorite authors.

After all the excitement, it was time for us to return home. It was a
memorable, fun trip. The fellowship was awesome, we laughed and talked
and had a wonderful time. I feel that I became even closer to my sistahs
on this spiritual outing and hope they feel the same. Even after we arrived home we weren't ready for the trip to end, so we took the fellowship
inside my house and talked and laughed some more.

2nd Anniversary Memories, be Blessed my Sistah's.

Much Luv,
Maryam
